What is the purpose of the second synth on the daughterboard?
When using the Main Synth as a sampler, access to General MIDI (GM) is lost,
since the resident GM sounds are replaced with the custom samples. When this
occurs, GM sounds may be accessed through a daughterboard.

When the General MIDI default banks are replaced with custom samples,
General MIDI sounds may still be accessed through the HOMAC daughter synth.
This in essence doubles the availability of MIDI sound choices at any given
time.

The "HOMAC" daughterboard's sounds are different (some are better) than the
MA-1 Main Synth.

The HOMAC uses Kurzweil sounds on a Rockwell chipset. It does not use the
same engine as the MA-1 Kurzweil (Main Synth). Therefore, the sounds on the
HOMAC cannot be replaced with customized samples (Sampling).

Note: The HOMAC daughterboard is included in the Pinnacle Project Studio
package and also offered as an optional upgrade for the Pinnacle through
VTB for a limited time only.
