Sample RAM on the Pinnacle's MA-1 Sampling Synth
The Pinnacle MA-1 sampler uses two types of memory:

1) "Program RAM" - memory permanently attached to the card.
This RAM stores parameters such as patch information and references.
ALL retail boards have 12K. There is a special 200K version of the
Pinnacle (the "200K Refurb") that can be purchased "direct" from
Voyetra Turtle Beach at a discounted price.
This offer is only available for a limited time.

2) "Sample RAM" - 72-pin SIMM cards (Fast Page Mode 70ns or faster)
placed in the Pinnacle's SIMM sockets. One SIMM will work by itself,
but if you install two SIMMs you should use a matched pair.
Since it is best to use two identical SIMMs in the Pinnacle, you may
want to install two 16MB SIMMs for a total of 32MB of RAM.

If you experience problems using sample RAM on the Pinnacle:

1) The Pinnacle supports up to 48 MB RAM. If more than 48 MB
(i.e. 2 x 32mb SIMMs) is installed, only 48 MB will be used.

2) If problems persist, check the RAM SIMM itself either at the store it
was purchased at, or in another computer's SIMM bank. We recommend
70 ns or faster, non-parity, non-EDO (FPM or "Fast Page Mode" RAM),
72-pin SIMMs. Single-sided SIMM cards are preferred due to the
location of the SIMM sockets on the Pinnacle.
