Specs - 2.5mm Mic/Earphone adapter cable that comes with XBL Headphones 
(AXT and XBL) 2.5mm comm plug wiring:

The EarForce XBL microphone circuit is wired similarly to the 
Microsoft-supplied headset mic circuit. This allows use of a cellphone
connector, and any adapters that will work with these. 

2.5mm plug, 3-conductor plug, wired to: 
--> TIP conductor on 2.5mm plug goes to TIP on PINK 1/8" plug for 
--> Microphone RING conductor on 2.5mm plug goes to TIP on GREEN 1/8" 
--> plug for Earphone/speaker SLEEVE conductor goes to SLEEVE conductor
    (Common Ground)
