NOTE:
In order to use a headset for Live Chat, the original (classic) Xbox
controller needs an optional/extra cost plug-in Live interface, commonly
called the "puck." You can get one from Microsoft or from a number of
3rd-party manufacturers.
******************************
The instructions in the booklet that ships with the EarForce X2 headphones
were written for Xbox 360. Here are connection and setup instructions for the
original Xbox 'classic' (with puck):
- Like the Xbox 360, the original Xbox has two audio outputs on a dual-RCA
cable, with one white plug (LEFT) and a red plug (RIGHT). Connect these
output plugs to the appropriate input jacks on the cables provided with
EarForce X2 headphones.
- Open the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox Live and choose your User Account.
This will take you to the Live screen.
- Choose Voice Chat and press the Y button for options.
- The default setting for Voice Chat is Voice Through Headset. Press A to
select this and the window will close. This activates the Voice Through
Speakers setting, which is the desired setting for use with the X2
headphone.
We know this is a bit confusing, but the Voice Through Headset<>Voice
Through Speakers setting acts as a TOGGLE. If you see one and select it,
it will change to the other setting, without letting you know that it has
changed itself. This is as designed.
