Game audio can use up a lot of bandwidth, which most players prefer to be used
for smoother graphics and faster response to the player's input, rather than
for higher quality sound. Add to this the bottleneck caused by multiple chat
streams (if multiple players are involved) and things can get 'hairy' pretty
quick.
Because of this, the Xbox 360 provides little in the way of audio controls.
It is up to the game and audio equipment manufacturers to provide the controls
for adjusting audio levels, and the player must use these controls to arrive
at his/her own preferred "mix."
Some games provide level controls for the game and/or music soundtracks.
If the game provides this, you will be able to reduce the level of the
gamesound, leaving the chat level up high. Then you can increase the overall
"master" volume of the mix to your liking, which should make a nice balance
of gamesounds/chat in the EarForce X2, X1 headphones.
Hopefully, the game manufacturers will begin to implement volume adjustments
for the various parts of their soundtracks, and getting the right mix of
gamesound/soundtrack/chat will become less of an issue.
It is not within the scope of this product to provide multichannel mixing
of the various incoming audio streams within the game/console/playback system,
so that you can balance the levels to your liking.
