Many folks have asked us if the X1 headphones are fully usable with the Xbox
"Classic" or their PC, as well as the Xbox 360.
*****************************
1) For PC Audio:
Yes! The X1 can be used with any PC soundcard with Mic In (pink) and Line Out
(green) jacks on your PC's audio interface.
The USB plug from the X1 headphones must be plugged into a USB port on
your Xbox or computer. The USB plug draws the necessary power for the X1
headphone's inline amplifiers.
For Use with a PC:
- To use the headphones for PC audio playback, simply plug the X1's GREEN
plug into the GREEN jack on the soundcard. Make sure the Mute is set
to Off.
- To use the Mic, simply plug the PINK plug into the soundcard's PINK
jack. You may need to turn the mic's gain control up on the X1's
inline control box. Make sure the Mute is set to Off.
- Plug the USB connector into an available USB port on the PC.
Now you can use the X1 headphones for all your PC audio needs, including
Internet phone applications like Skype(tm) and listening to iTunes(tm) or
other digital music formats.

2) Xbox Classic:
The X1 headphone was designed specifically for best performance with
the Xbox 360, so it won't work with the Xbox Classic right out of the box.
But it can be made to work...
For Xbox Classic:
- The Xbox Classic does not have a USB port. In order to power up the X1
headset, you would need to obtain a AC to USB power adapter, available
at many electronics stores.
- The X1 has a specially designed mic connector for the Xbox 360 Controller.
This connector will not fit in the Xbox Classic's controller. However,
if you obtain a 2.5mm 3-conductor male to male connector cable (to
connect from the inline amp/mute box) you could then use the X1 with
an Xbox Classic controller.
- In order to use the X1 with the Live network using an Xbox Classic, set
the Xbox Dashboard > Personal Settings for the headset to Play Through
All.

NOTE:
We don't have available the exact parts to make this work, but you should
be able to find what you need at your friendly neighborhood Radio Shack
(or similar electronics store).
