Testing the Mic of your Headphones- How To 
First thing to do would be to test the mic by itself: 

1) Detach the mic from the headset. 
2) Plug the mic into the pink Microphone input on your PC's soundcard. 
3) Try using the mic w/ your PC soundcard. 

- Do you get sound from the mic? If so, then the mic is OK. 
  Then the problem would be with the mic jack in the headset. 

- No sound from mic? Then the mic is broken and you need a replacement.
