Distance from Xmitter for Best Reception 
This may not be obvious, but the best transmission/reception will occur if 
you are at least four feet away from the X3 transmitter while wearing the X3 
headset. The IR transmission 'beam' is better focused starting at about four 
feet away from the transmitter. 

If you are too close to the transmitter, you may not hear any game sound at
all in the headset.
