Q: I've got a new computer running Windows XP. I tried, but I can't install
my Pinnacle Project Studio card in this PC. Worse, I can't run Digital
Orchestrator Plus without the Pinnacle card. I was able to install the
hardware via an article in the knowledge base. What can I do? This
software and hardware (that I paid a dear price for by the way) is useless
to me unless you develop an XP driver.
A: The *bundled* version of Digital Orchestrator Plus/Pro that came with the
Pinnacle about five years ago, can only be used when a Pinnacle board is
installed / detected in a system.
The Pinnacle was an ISA board (long discontinued) that cannot be installed
in any current system as there are no longer ISA slots. For better or
worse Technology advances and backwards compatibility is not available.
All devices should be used with the hardware & software available at the
time of their release.
Since you have chosen to use Windows XP (a five year newer OS) we would
suggest taking a look at 'Record Producer Deluxe' as its compatible with
Windows XP.
