Win 95 - Getting an IDE CD-ROM working
1) Check to see if you have a second E-IDE controller on your motherboard.
Follow the 40-pin ribbon cable from your hard drive back to the
motherboard, and see if there is another 40-pin connector next to it.

Note: If there is another controller, that should ALWAYS be used. The IDE
controller on the sound card will cause a resource conflict with the
Secondary IDE Controller on the motherboard.

2) Configure your CD-ROM drive as "MASTER" by manipulating the jumpers on the
   back panel of the drive.

3) Connect a 40-pin IDE ribbon cable from the CD-ROM drive's IDE connector to
the Secondary IDE Controller's connector on the motherboard. Tighten up
all screws and make sure all cables are properly connected.

4) Turn on the computer. Windows will boot and may detect the newly installed
Secondary IDE Controller. Follow the prompts to install the Secondary IDE
Controller. Click [Next] until the [Finish] button is displayed, then
   click on [Finish].

5) Once at the Windows desktop, right click on My Computer and choose
Properties from the popup menu. Click on Device Manager and then
double-click on the CD-ROM icon in the Device Manager "tree". Your CD-ROM
drive should be listed. If so, it is now installed in your system.
