Games tips - (DOS/ Win 3.1)
Q. Why can I play a game and hear the music in FM and not Wavetable?
A. Assuming the game is GM-compatible:
   1. Did you run "setupsnd" PRIOR to starting the game?
   2. Did you select the correct I/O setting in the game setup?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. I hear background music, but can't hear the game sound effects.
A. Did you select the same settings for both setups (port, DMA, IRQ)?
Did you configure the setup for playback of 4 effects at a time?
Does the "Sound Test" in "tzdiags" work?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. The digital audio playback in my games sounds distorted or speeded-up.
A. There is probably a conflict with the IRQ chosen for the Sound Blaster
driver. Run "tzsetup" to reconfigure the interrupt setting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. The card works fine in DOS, but locks up in Windows.
A. There is probably a port address conflict between the Tropez card and
another card in the machine. Change the setting in the Windows
"system.ini" file under [Tropez.drv], as well as the jumpers on the
board itself. The correct jumper settings are explained in the manual
(see the article "Board Configuration" for these settings).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. After exiting a Windows session to play a DOS game with General MIDI,
   I hear no music.
A. First run "setupsnd" to initialize the card for GM (Windows loads a
different driver to access the Wavetable synth, so the DOS driver
used for MPU-401 needs to be reinitialized).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No voice or sound effects:
   a) Be sure to select Sound Blaster or Sound Blaster Pro as the
sound card in the games setup menu.
   b) Enter the sound card settings for port, IRQ, DMA. For the proper
values, run "tzdiag" from the "tropez\dosapps" directory, and the
settings will be displayed under the Sound Blaster section.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the game's setup asks for the number of digital audio voices the card is
capable of playing back, select 4. This will enable 4 sound effects to be
played at a time.
