What type of memory does the Rio use?
The Rio has one 30-pin socket for a 1MB or 4MB SIPP (not SIMM) which are
hard to find these days.

Rio SampleStore uses 30-pin, 70 ns (or faster), SIPP memory modules.
These can be 256 K, 1 MB, or 4 MB each.

The following SIPP types are supported:

  256 K x 9 70 ns DRAM
    1 M x 9 70 ns DRAM
    4 M x 9 70 ns DRAM

70 ns or faster (the lower the number, the faster) is critical.

Make sure that the chips on the SIPP face the red dipswitch box
(SIP connector on top edge of Rio daughter card).
