The Optical Digital Input is meant for recording digital-to-digital from other
music players (MiniDisc, DAT, CD, DVD, etc.) that have an Optical Digital
Output. To listen to the audio you must first record it to a file on your hard
drive.
Please note that Dolby Digital or DTS-encoded audio data coming in through the
Optical Digital Input cannot be decoded by the soundcard. As far as we know,
there is no software that can do this, either.
