Elite 800X - Windows Sonic Surround Sound

Microsoft recently introduced Windows Sonic Surround Sound for Xbox One, which means that a gaming headset connected directly to the controller or to the console’s USB/Optical ports can now deliver immersive virtual surround sound.

Additionally, you’ll be able to choose between Windows Sonic for Headphones (which is free), or Dolby Atmos for Headphones (sold separately). Whatever you decide, having surround sound provides a much more in-depth experience, and even offers a competitive advantage, so make sure you give it a try.

For the Turtle Beach ELITE 800X gaming headset, we recommend NOT using the new Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos surround sound settings, as the ELITE 800X already features DTS Headphone:X® 7.1 Surround Sound, which provides the best audio experience for this specific headset. For the ELITE 800X, make sure your Xbox One™ audio settings are configured as shown below:

1. Press the Xbox button on the controller while in the Xbox One Home Screen.

2. Go to the System tab (gear icon) >> Settings >> Display and Sound >> Audio OutputStep1.png3. Set Optical Audio to Bitstream Out.Bitstream_Out.png4. Set Bitstream Format to Dolby Digital.Bitstream_Format.png

Thanks for updating this with the new dashboard. However my headset will not connect to the base. It was working fine one day and then after a day connected to my laptop via blue tooth it would not reconnect with the base. I'll keep trouble shooting it.
