The Elite 800 headset connects wirelessly to its transmitter in order to send/receive game audio and chat from the console. When the Elite 800 headset and transmitter are paired and the headset is powered on, the LED on the transmitter will be solid. If the LED on the transmitter is double blinking, then the headset has lost pairing to the transmitter.
The Elite 800 headset and transmitter are paired out of the box, so these instructions are only necessary if the headset has lost pairing to the transmitter. This may occur if the headset is out of range of the transmitter for a long period of time or if the battery runs very low.
Note: Make sure the headset is fully charged before beginning the pairing process. Disconnect the headset charging cable before pairing.
Elite 800 Pairing Instructions
1) Power the headset off and disconnect the transmitter from a USB port on the console, then plug the transmitter back in.
2) Press and hold the PAIR button on the transmitter for 5 seconds until the LED flashes quickly, then release the button.
3) Press and hold the Power button on the headset for 5 seconds until the headset's Power LED flashes quickly, then release the button. A voice prompt will confirm that the headset has entered pairing mode.
4) After 15-20 seconds, the LED on the transmitter will remain solid.
The Elite 800 headset will now be paired to the transmitter and you will be able to hear game audio and chat from the console.
Q. I can't put the headset in pairing mode. What's wrong?
A. Make sure headset is powered off before beginning the pairing process. When pairing the headset, press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds. Letting go earlier than that will cause the headset to power on and not enter pairing mode. In addition, disconnect the headset charging cable if it is plugged in. If the headset is charging, you will not be able to perform the pairing process.
Q. My headset and transmitter are paired but I can't hear audio through the headset. What do I do?
A. If you cannot hear game audio through the headset even though the LED on the transmitter is solid and the LED on the headset is blinking, make sure the optical cable is plugged securely from the Optical Input on the back of the transmitter to the optical output on the back of the Console. In addition, make sure that the Sound Settings are configured correctly. Under 'Digital Optical' or 'Digital Out (OPTICAL)', only 'Dolby Digital 5.1' must be checked. Make sure DTS is unchecked.
