The Stealth 420X uses a rechargeable battery. Make sure to charge it regularly.

Headset Storage

Always charge your headset before storing it for any extended period of time (greater than 3 months). Never store the unit in temperatures above 113°F/45°C.

The Stealth 420X Headset and Transmitter come paired out of the box. When paired, with both the headset and Transmitter powered on, the Transmitter's LED will be solid (lit, but not blinking).

However, if your Transmitter's LED is pulsing, follow the steps below to pair your Headset and Transmitter.

1. Start this process with the headset powered OFF. Press and hold the Pairing Button on the Transmitter until the Transmitter's Pairing LED flashes rapidly (2-3 seconds), then release. (Use a Paperclip or something similar to press the Pinhole button.)

2. Press and hold the Power button on the Headset until the Headset's Power LED flashes rapidly (5 seconds), then release.

3. Within 10 seconds, the Transmitter's and Headset's LED will remain on solid, indicating that pairing has been successful.

For additional information, please visit our Knowledgebase.

It is important to always run the most up-to-date-firmware. The firmware can be updated via the Turtle Beach Audio Hub, which is available here.

Are these headphones compatible with Atmos for headphones on Xbox one?

Hi PingThing, the updated surround-sound options available on Xbox One will indeed work with our headsets. :D

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way that these headphones can connect to a phone or any bluetooth-enabled device.

  • Avatar
    TB Admin

    Hey Jakob.

The 420X does not use bluetooth in its wireless capacity, just normal RF.

You can connect to a mobile phone using an included mobile cable, but you cannot connect wirelessly via bluetooth.

Hi do you need to actually have the headset turned on when connected to your phone via the mobile cable? I have to turn it on to be able to hear my music but I'm not sure if you're suppose to have to.

    @ Joe

Yes, you would want the headset active for use.

Hi, i need to conect my headphones to the xbox to charge them or i can conect them anywhere?

    @ Alegandro

Any free USB connection can power your headset. So you can charge it from a PC if needed.

Hey, When i use the mobile connector, i have to turn the headset on, which is fine.  However it always looks for the wireless connection, which it cant find if im not at home, obviously! The headset will also automatically power down every few minutes, is there any way i can stop this?

    @ Barry

Refer to the complete user guide linked above for other specifics of your use.

When using the Stealth 420X away from your console (Mobile Connection Only) after 15 minutes you may hear a prompt indicating that you must press the Power Button in order to continue use. This is built in for battery conservation, just press the power button to continue listening to music without interruption.

I noticed the sound to be very flat while wireless on XB1. Once I plug into the controller it's instantly better. Like way better. Why is that? is there a setting I'm missing? I've been searching and haven't found anything. Even switched which USB port it's plugged into.

Is there a way to turn off the green lights when in use? When I don't use it with the bluetooth and I use my phone, I would rather not have flashing green lights while I'm listening.

    @TB Admin Nothing???

    @ Rui

Apologies. You say the sound changes from controller to wireless.

That may be the case, especially with the newer MS update to allow for better audio options through the controller. That would be otherwise a base stereo, which is good sound on its own.

By flat do you mean in regards bass? When using the normal function of the headset, you will have the various sound EQ options, so adjust those accordingly as well.

    @ Gannon

No, the lights on the headset are part of its main functions. They cannot be turned off.

If it fails to respond, then warranty service may be needed. Double check your junk/spam, the support teams emails can sometimes be blocked there.

    what is the warranty

  • Avatar
    TB Admin

    @ Tommy

You will want to speak to our support team

    @ Tanya

Warranty is generally one year from purchase on new products. Refurbished units have a limited 90 day warranty. It covers defects, manufacturing. Pretty much so long as you didn't break it/your dog ate it, we can try to help.

It is something wrong with the headset or Xbox ? I can’t turn down or even mute my voice chat volume anymore. It’s always on and it’s getting irritating. What do I need to do? Is my headset broken ? I can turn my game volume up and down but the voice chat volume is on constant boom

Speaking of warranties, my Stealth 420X, bought new from Amazon on October 1, 2017, has quit working.  There is no sound.  I've rebooted the Xbox, removed the transmitter, put it back in, and tried everything, including unplugging and plugging mike back in.

Any ideas?  Maybe I need to send it to Turtle Beach?  I mean, c'mon -- 3 months of use?

I love the headset and just recommended to my son, but I may need to revert that.

Solution found (for now, not sure which one fixed it though):  (1) stopped downloading EA's early enlister app (2) rebooted and pulled transmitter from USB (3) still didn't work so then I jiggled the transmitter in its socket with headset on and BOOM -- it's working.
