Headset Audio Controller - Use for Chat Audio Only

The following article details how to use your headset with the Ear Force Headset Audio Controller (HAC) on Xbox One for chat only. Game audio will be sent to the headset from an amplifier or transmitter.

The Headset Audio Controller has a 3.5mm headset jack that is primarily intended to output game audio and chat. However, the Headset Audio Controller can also be used for Xbox One chat only if you prefer to use your product's transmitter or amplifier for game audio.

In order to connect a headset or amplifier with an Xbox 360 Talkback Cable jack to the Headset Audio Controller, you will need a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm cable. Some headsets, such as the PX4, PX51, XP510, and Phantom include a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm cable, referred to as the Mobile Device Cable or PS4 Talkback Cable. The PS4 Talkback Cable is available for purchase on our website.

We cannot guarantee all 3rd-party 2.5mm-to-3.5mm cables will work properly; we can only confirm that this is the type of connection the Headset Audio Controller requires.

When using the Headset Audio Controller for chat only, you will need to press the left button on the adapter near "CHAT" until you hear a tone through the headset. This means that game audio output from the adapter has been disabled and the Headset Audio Controller will only output chat audio.

We cannot guarantee full functionality with 3rd-party, non-Turtle Beach headsets. For more information regarding 3rd-party headset compatibility, please click here.
